July 19, 2015 – Although my original Raspberry Pi was nearing 300 days of continuously being on (uptime), I chose to turn it off in order to use the ethernet cable attached to it. I got a blue-ray player for Father’s Day and needed that connection more than I needed the Raspberry Pi on. So I put the Raspi away. I hope to use it in the future.
I left the Beaglebone Black on, though I am planning on moving all my credit card size computer (2 Rsspi’s and the BeagleboneBlack) to my computer desktop. But before I do that I will need to purchase an eight port ethernet hub and some cables. My plan is to have all my devices connected to the router via ethernet cables. That would include my: Apple TV, Blue Ray Player, Rapberry Pi 1, Raspberry Pi 2, Beaglebone Black, Z-Box, Roku, and Desktop Computer. The Apple TV and the Blue Ray player will stay on the TV stand. The rest will be on my desktop.
My Beaglebone Black will not update well via apt-get update. It says its missing a key. I am working on this but am afraid I may have to re-install the OS. Which means re-installing this very blog. I hope it does not come to that.
