September 13,\u00a0 2014 – I was never able to get any data\/files into the mounted 32gb micro sd card. If I unmounted it, the folder to which I unmounted it from would revert to having me as owner and I was then able to add to that folder. But I wanted 32gb of space to work with.<\/p>\n

I decided to remove the 32gb micro sd card since I was not able to use it. I also decided to reboot to ensure that the unmounted drive was also removed from \/dev. I rebooted and then\u2026.nothing. The system did not come up. I was not able to ssh into the BBB. My intuition told me to insert the micro sd card back into the BBB (after turning it off) and power the BBB back up. The system came back up! I was able to ssh into my Beaglebone Black. Just to confirm my suspicions I repeated the prior two step \u2014 remove 32gb micro sd and reboot. Same thing happened, no system. Apparently, I was successful in getting my Beaglebone Black to boot from the micro sd card. But I meant for it to become the system, not just have the boot loader on it. If the system booted and worked off the micro sd card, I\u2019d have a 32gb system and the ability to use the whole card (my original intention)like on the Raspberry Pi.<\/p>\n

I tried a few internet suggestions on how to move the bootload back to the emmc flash, but nothing worked. So I was forced to re-install the ubuntu OS on the emmc flash, which also meant having to re-install mysql, php, WordPress, etc\u2026 I was not happy, but at least I\u2019d have my system back.<\/p>\n

I was back to normal within two to three hours. I was also glad I made all the many backups of my one WordPress Tech Blog. I never lost a thing.<\/p>\n

I will still pursue getting to use the external 32gb card to add space to the Beaglebone black. With enough time I will get it to bend to my will!! I will!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
